Metal Guttering and Downpipes

Gutters and downpipes perform an important function collecting and directing rainwater run-off from the roof. As well as protecting the building from water damage, gutters and downpipes help maintain the structural integrity of the foundations and exterior and preserve the building’s overall aesthetics and functionality.

Vertix Systems can supply 3 different gutter options, to suit differing functional and aesthetic requirements.

External gutters

Arrow

Reliable metal gutters

These are standard metal gutters supplied with all the components including downpipes and are available as a half round or rectangular shape.

External gutters that can cope with most rainfall, however in extreme sudden deluges they can overflow as the safety factor in the calculation is low.

Internal Gutters

Arrow

High safety factor gutters

These are made from pre-finished steel backed with a thick membrane and are supplied with the joint brackets and outlets. Internal gutters are within the wall plate of the building and have the highest safety factor, designed to cope with all rainfalls.

This type of gutter requires a maintenance schedule to ensure the outlet and overflow pipe remain unblocked.

Hidden Gutters

Arrow

Clean aesthetic

These are made from pre-finished steel backed with a thick membrane and are supplied with the joint brackets and outlets.  Hidden gutters are at the end of a roof, generally outside of the building wall plate and over the soffit.

These are popular with architects looking for a clean aesthetic look to the building. They have a higher safety margin and if the outlet gets blocked, the water can come through the soffit.

What are the benefits of Metal Guttering

Durability

Metal guttering is highly durable and resistant to rust, corrosion, and damage from UV rays. This durability ensures a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacement.

Strength

Metal gutters are strong and sturdy, capable of withstanding heavy rainfall, snow loads, and debris without warping or bending. This strength helps to protect a property from water damage.

Low Maintenance

Metal guttering requires minimal maintenance compared with other materials. They are easy to clean and do not deteriorate as quickly as plastic or wooden gutters, reducing the time and cost associated with maintenance.

Aesthetic Appeal

Metal guttering adds a sleek and modern look to the exterior of a property, enhancing its overall appearance. It comes in a variety of styles and finishes, allowing the home owner to choose an option that complements their property’s architecture and design.

Environmentally Friendly

Metal guttering is recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly choice. They can be recycled at the end of their lifespan, reducing waste and minimising the environmental impact.

Fire Resistance

Metal gutters are non-combustible and offer increased fire resistance compared with plastic or wooden gutters. This can help protect a property in the event of a fire, providing an added layer of safety.

Why choose a gutter system from Vertix Systems?

Vertix Systems provides a range of gutter options to complement its EasySeam Roof and Wall Cladding Systems. As well as coordinating with their aesthetics, the gutter options offer different rainwater management solutions depending on the need of the project.

Our guttering is stylish, efficient and is eco-friendly, as the metal is entirely recyclable, offering a sustainable alternative to plastic gutters in terms of appearance and longevity.

What are the benefits of metal gutters over other materials like plastic?

Metal gutters offer several advantages over plastic, including increased durability, longevity, and aesthetic appeal. They are also more resistant to extreme weather conditions and UV exposure, making them a more reliable option for long-term rainwater management.

How long do metal gutters typically last?

The lifespan of metal gutters depends on factors such as the material used, installation quality, and maintenance. However, metal gutters can last anywhere from 20 to 50 years or more with proper care and maintenance, making them a durable and long-lasting choice for rainwater management.

Do metal gutters require regular maintenance, and if so, what does that involve?

Yes, metal gutters require regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Maintenance tasks may include cleaning debris, inspecting for damage, and repairing any leaks or corrosion. Regular inspections and cleaning can help prevent issues and prolong the lifespan of the metal gutters.

Are metal gutters suitable for all types of weather conditions?

Yes, metal gutters are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. They offer excellent resistance to rust, corrosion, and UV damage, ensuring reliable performance in diverse climates.

How do I prevent issues like rust or corrosion on metal gutters?

It’s essential to ensure proper installation and regular maintenance. This includes keeping gutters clean and free of debris, repairing any damage promptly, and applying protective coatings or treatments as needed to inhibit corrosion.

What our clients say

“We used Vertix EasySeam System for both roof and wall on a recent project and were really pleased both with the quality of the product and the support offered by Vertix Systems. They were very easy to deal with and told us what we needed for the project, addressing any technical questions we had. The ordering process was then straightforward and easy to get through. Once on site, the EasySeam System was simple to fit and roof and wall compliment each other well. Our client is over the moon and really likes the sleek and modern look the EasySeam System in matt dark grey has given their home. They’re really pleased we chose Vertix Systems for their project and so are we.”

Rob Edwards JNR Construction

“We used Vertix EasySeam Roof System to re-clad a flat roof kitchen and garage extension that had failed and looked unsightly. We also took the opportunity to wrap the exterior kitchen walls in insulation and fit EasySeam soffit boards over this. The technical support we received was second to none and the ordering process was easy. Both the soffit boards and standing seam were straightforward to install and have given our home a more contemporary appearance- mixing old and new beautifully. The neighbours are so impressed they want to use EasySeam System on their property!”

Louise George

“We are very pleased with the quality and finish of the Vertix Easyseam cladding fitted to our new building at Cardigan Guildhall Market. It looks wonderful.”
